The Importance Of Relevant Backlinks
Most webmasters are aware of the importance of relevant backlinks and any experienced webmaster will definitely work very hard to get as many backlinks to their site as they possible can.
While incoming links are very important not all links carry the same weight. What I mean by this, is that not any backlink will increase your traffic. The important thing about incoming links is that they must be relevant to your topic. This simply means that the sites that are linking to your site, must be about the same topics to let that backlink count.
Say for instance that you have a website about “clothes”, it will be of little use to you if a site about “lawyers” links to your site. Clothes and Lawyers are not related to each other. But if you have a website about clothes and four other sites that link to you are about kids clothes, coats, dresses, or shirts these would be considered relevant links.
One other thing you should not overlook, is to pay great attention to your anchor text. The anchor text is the text you use to describe the link. Lets use are keyword “kids clothes” – the anchor text would look something like this-’Kids clothes for BLA BLA BLA’ or something similar. Experiment a little. Just remember that no method is the best method and something which might work for somebody else, does not necessarily mean it will also work for you.
Just follow the basic rules of the search engines and in no time you will notice a fair amount of traffic coming your way.
